Egypt reaches zero deaths for coronavirus: Presidential Heath adviser

CAIRO – 19 September 2022: Adviser to the President for Health Affairs, Muhamad Awad Tag El Din, said that Covid-19 deaths in the country had reached zero.

He noted that the situation had become very reassuring, and the infections had become few.

 He rather explained during televised statements that the last wave of Corona in Egypt was very weak, and that the virus had become weak.

The Adviser to the President for Health Affairs added, that with the entry of winter and the biggening of school season, the resistance of the respiratory system becomes little bit slower, and therefore cases of influenza, coughing and sneezing increase.

He pointed out that the solution for the groups most vulnerable to infections is to get the seasonal flu vaccination because they are the most needy group for this vaccination.

Last week, Awad Tag El Din said that Covid-19 situation in Egypt is stable with remarkable decrease in infection cases.

Speaking to ETC TV channel, he reiterated that all citizens need to get Covid-19 vaccinations and adopt all precautionary measures.

An integrated plan has been developed to monitor monkeypox cases coming from abroad, he said, noting that the Egyptian citizen, who has recently tested positive for monkeypox virus, is isolated in a hospital.

No new monkeypox cases have been reported in Egypt so far, the adviser added.
