CAIRO – 15 September 2022: Naval exercises (Cleopatra- 2022) between Egyptian and French naval forces kicked off on Thursday in the French territorial water, according to the Ministry of Defense's statement.

The Cleopatra 2022 is one of the major joint naval drills between the two navies and is set to last for several days, the statement added.

The Egyptian Gowind-class corvette (El-Moez) and a number of Naval Special Forces arrived at the port of Toulon, France, and the training activities began by holding a re-sailing conference, the statement revealed.

France is the largest exercise partner to Egypt, as five Egyptian-French air exercises took place, in addition to five naval ones in the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, including "Cleopatra 2021," said the Egyptian Armed Forces in an infographic published on January 5, 2021.
