CAIRO - 15 September 2022: A poll conducted by the Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) has revealed that 45.1% of heads of households said that food waste is prevalent in the Egyptian society.
The unfolding crisis in Ukraine has roiled commodity markets and posed threat to global food security, the IDSC added.
According to the poll, 73.2% of respondents declared that they do not throw any food.
Poll results also revealed that 79.7% of heads of households said that they buy only their needs while 17.3% of respondents said that they buy goods in bulk if there are offers.
Meanwhile, 55.9% of heads of households said that reducing all food losses is the responsibility of the citizens, while 36.5% of respondents said that it is a joint responsibility between the citizen and the government
