CAIRO – 15 July 2017: Qatar doesn’t have the opportunity to be represented or attend the meeting of the permanent office of the Arab Lawyers Union held in Cairo, said Abd El-Gawad Ahmed, a member of the ALU and the Egyptian Lawyers Syndicate.

The Qatar Lawyers Association is neither represented in the union nor welcome to be represented, due to Qatar’s relations with Israel, funding terrorism and rattling the security of the Arab World, Abd El-Gawad added.

On June 5, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain cut diplomatic ties with Doha on a charge of destabilizing the region by supporting terrorism. “Numerous Egyptian attempts to stop Qatar from supporting terrorists, including the Muslim Brotherhood, failed”, said Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
