CAIRO - 15 July 2017: A Cairo criminal court postponed to July 30 the issuance of a verdict in retrial of two defendants facing charges of storming into Tebbin police station.

The two were sentenced to 15-year imprisonment in absentia before they were arrested and re-tried.

In the first trial, the court has sentenced 21 defendants to rigorous imprisonment ranging between 7 to 5 years.

According to the first court order, the defendants shall collectively pay EGP 10.1 million in compensation of the damage caused to the police facility.

The defendants were accused of storming the Tebbin police station in August 2013 in the aftermath of ending Raba el Adawiya and Nahada squares sit-in.
