CAIRO – 15 July 2017: A budget of LE 620,000 ($34,556) has been allocated to restoring the sidewalks of Fouad, Abou Kir, and Corniche streets in Alexandria as part of the governorate’s plan to improve the inner roads of the Mediterranean city.

The restoration includes installing tiles and painting the sidewalks, according to Al-Masry Al-Youm.

As the summer season has already began in Alexandria, the governor of Alexandria has stressed that the work will be completed in record time, alleviating stress of tourists as the city is a main holiday destination for many Egyptians.

Governor Mohamed Sultan told press that the authorities in the governorate are keeping record of vital locations whose efficiency must be raised to be included in the investment map.

The authorities are also working on acquiring grants to restore roads in deteriorating conditions that are vital to citizens, such as those in poor neighborhoods, entrances to villages and main roads.
