Beni Suef opens 1st faculty for sciences of differently abled persons in Middle East

CAIRO – 20 August 2022: Beni Suef University in Egypt is the first university in the Middle East to have a faculty concerned with the sciences of People with Special Needs.

In the below lines, Egypt Today publishes some information about the faculty:

1- The faculty receives both scientific and literary majors together, and each of them has a special coordination.

2- The duration of study in the college is 4 years, according to the deliberate hours system.

3- The faculty includes 7 departments and specializations, in addition to 3 studies departments in Arabic and English.

4- The Department of Talent is the first specialized and unique department in Egypt concerned with preparing teachers and specialists to deal with gifted persons with disabilities.

5- The Visual Impairment Department aims to educate and rehabilitate the visually impaired at the national and regional levels.

6- The Hearing Impairment Department aims to prepare highly skilled specialists with extensive experience in rehabilitating the hearing impaired.

7- The Department of Mental Disability aims to prepare a distinguished graduate who is able to care and rehabilitate people with mental disabilities.

8- The Department of Language and Speech Disorders trains students to use educational tools, devices and aids diverse rehabilitation for people with speech and language disorders.

9- The Autism Spectrum Disorder Department helps to provide specialized and effective programs in the field of autism.
