CAIRO – 13 August 2022: A major cabinet reshuffle has been decreed by the House of Representatives, giving 13 ministerial positions to fresh politicians on Saturday while 18 others have kept their incumbents.

1 - Dr. Reda Hegazy, deputy minister of education, will take hold of the Ministry of Education.

2 - Professor of Sustainable Development Atef Nabhan Sweilam will assume the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources.

3 - Minister of Higher Education and temporary Minister of Health will consolidate his position at the Minister of Health and leave his position at the Ministry of Higher Education.

4 - Mohamed Ayman Ashour, deputy minister of higher education, has been promoted to be the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

5 - Soha Samir, former assistant to the minister of foreign affairs, will be the minister of Immigration.

6 - Ahmed Eissa Abou Hussein, executive director of retail trade sector in the Commercial International Bank, will be the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities.

7 - Ahmed Samir Saleh, head of the Economic Affairs Committee at the House of Representatives, is now the Minister of Trade and Industry.

8 - Air Marshal Mohamed Abbas Hashem, commander of the air force, assumes the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

9 - Hassan Mohamed Shehata, secretary-general of the Federation of the Egyptian Trade Unions, assumes the Ministry of Manpower.

10 - Neveen Youssef al-Kilany, Dean of the High Institute for Art Criticism at the Academy of Arts, assumes the Ministry of Culture.

11 - General Hesham Abdel Ghany Amena, governor of Beheira, assumes the Ministry of Local Development.

12 - Mahmoud Mostafa Esmat, former chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airport and Air Navigation, assumes the Ministry of Public Enterprise Sector.

13 - Mohamed Salah al-Din, head of the National Authority for Military Production, assumes the Ministry of Military Production.

Meanwhile, the ministries of defense, interior, foreign affairs, finance, housing, environment, planning, endowment, telecommunications, social solidarity, agriculture, investment, justice, supply and internal trade, transport, electricity and renewable energy, petroleum, and youth and sports have all maintained their ministers.
