The minister made his remarks on Saturday during a meeting with Praveen Agrawal, the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) Representative and Country Director in Egypt, in the presence of a host of respective officials.

Shaarawy praised initiatives and programs launched by the WFP to carry out local development nationwide, achieve sustainable development and empower women in the countryside, particularly in villages, where the presidential initiative "Haya Karima" is implemented.

The minister further stressed that the ministry is also keen to boost future cooperation with the WFP to provide the needs of citizens under developed systems.

For his part, Agrawal said the WFP aims to cement cooperation with the ministry to develop a comprehensive strategy on food projects and initiatives in Egypt in the 2023-2027 period.
