Luxor is set to receive a weekly flight from Italy as part of the summer schedule for the resumption of Italian flights to the Upper Egyptian governorate, according to the statement.

“This comes as part of the efforts made by the state and the Ministry of Civil Aviation to activate air traffic and increase the number of flights and various destinations between Egypt and the rest of the world,” according to the statement.

According to 2013 data, around 400,000 Italian tourists visited Egypt with Italy being one of the top European tourism exporters to the Egyptian destinations.

Cairo and Luxor have been named by Tripadvisor as one the best and most popular tourist destinations around the world this year in a list consisting of the 22 destinations.
