CAIRO – 19 July 2022: A delegation from the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) visited on Tuesday a rehabilitation center of prisoners in Damanhour.
The visit comes as part of a series of visits to rehabilitation centers which represent a quantum leap going in line with the national strategy for human rights and relevant international standards.
The centers also represent a leap with regard to the modern punitive measures adopted by Egypt.
As part of their visit, the NCHR delegation inspected the rehabilitation center facilities, the care services provided to inmates, along with knowing more information on the presented rehabilitation programs.
The rehabilitation programs aim at integrating inmates into society in accordance with human rights standards that were taken into account while establishing new reform and rehabilitation centers according to Interior Ministry.
A video post by the Ministry on its Facebook page showed the delegation visiting different facilities inside the center, chatting with inmates and their families.
