CAIRO – 4 July 2022: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry headed, on Sunday evening, for London to inaugurate the first partnership council between Egypt and the United Kingdom, said the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement.

Co-chaired by Minister Shoukry and UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs Elizabeth Truss, the council meeting would tackle political consultations between the two sides and economic issues, the statement added.

“The inauguration of the Partnership Council comes in light of the strengthening of cooperation between Egypt and the United Kingdom in various fields,” said Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Hafez.

Ambassador Hafez added that Minister Shoukry will hold several bilateral meetings during his visit in the context of strengthening consultations between the two sides.
