CAIRO - 30 June 2022: The committee of Agriculture and Irrigation at the Egyptian Parliament has stated that the Ministry of Irrigation's investments plan for the FY22/23 amounted to EGP 17 billion to implement a number of priority projects, on top of which is the project for the rehabilitation and lining of canals.

In its recommendations regarding the economic development plan for 2022/2023, the House of Representatives’ Agriculture and Irrigation Committee said that the Ministry of Irrigation aims to preserve all available resources and rationalize their use while maximizing the return from them.

The ministry's plan seeks to raise the efficiency of resources, and develop the necessary water policies to ensure the provision of all water requirements for agriculture, industry and drinking; maintain water quality, and improve irrigation methods with the aim of optimizing the use of available water resources.

The committee stressed that the investment plan for the year 2022/23 differs from the plan of the previous year, and that's through promoting investments for some entities entrusted with the implementation of national projects.
