CAIRO – 30 June 2022: Security authorities announced arresting a man accused of killing his wife, TV presenter Shaimaa Gamal, in Suez governorate after intensifying investigations and gathering the required information.

Earlier this week, the Public Prosecution announced launching a probe into the murder of Gamal after her husband, a member of a judicial authority, reported that she is missing.

The husband told the prosecution that his wife disappeared from in front of a commercial complex in October city in Giza without accusing anyone.

On Sunday, a person expressed to the prosecution willingness to give his testimony about the incident, saying he maintain a close relationship with the husband of Gamal.

The person said the husband is involved in the murder of Gamal over difference between them, affirming that he watched the circumstances of the murder and knows the place where Gamal is buried.

The prosecution obtained a permission from the judicial authority where the husband works to start investigations against him in the incident and ordered his arrest.

The prosecution said it followed the husband’s itinerary on the day of murder and found the body of the victim after being guided by the person, who said that he watched the crime.

The prosecution ordered detaining the person for four days pending investigation after he admitted being part of the crime.
