CAIRO – 28 June 2022: Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani expressed his country's appreciation for Egypt’s stances in support of Bahrain's security and stability, the security and Arab identity of the Gulf region, in addition to its historical sacrifices in order to support just Arab and Islamic rights.

Zayani affirmed that Bahrain, under the leadership of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, welcomes the current visit of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, state news agency BNA reported on Tuesday.

Sisi's visit would advance historical brotherly relations, as well as the strong and growing strategic partnership between the two sisterly countries, he added.

The Bahraini-Egyptian summit opens up broader prospects for strengthening bilateral political and economic cooperation and coordination, he said, affirming the solid positions of both countries on regional and international issues.

The Bahraini foreign minister also pointed out to both countries' commitment to safeguarding Arab national security, rejecting foreign interference in Arab internal affairs, as well as supporting a just and comprehensive peace in the region and establishing the values of tolerance and coexistence among religions, cultures and civilizations.

Zayani highlighted the keenness shown by the Bahraini government, led by Prime Minister and Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to activate agreements and memoranda of understanding with Egypt in various fields; in order to achieve the common interests of both countries and their peoples as regards promoting trade, tourism, investment, protecting the environment, as well as supporting comprehensive and sustainable development.

He also affirmed Bahrain’s support for all legitimate measures taken by Egypt to protect its security and stability and enhance its development process.

Zayani asserted that Bahrain-Egypt relations, with the support of both countries' leaders, are moving towards a more close strategic alliance and constructive cooperation for the sake of the two brotherly peoples and the Arab world as a whole

 Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received on Tuesday Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi at the Bahrain International Airport.

After that, the Bahraini king received Sisi at Al-Sakhir Palace in Manama, where an official reception ceremony was held, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.

On Tuesday morning, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi met with Sultan of Oman Haitham Bin Tarek al-Said at Al Elm Al Amer Castle in Muscat holding talks without the officials of both countries unlike Monday's meeting.

Egypt’s president Abdel Fattah al Sisi will embarked on Monday, in a tour that includes Oman and Bahrain to discuss the bilateral ties between Egypt and both of the two Gulf states, according to presidential spokesperson Bassam Rady.
