CAIRO – 24 June 2022: Egyptian political science professor and director of the Carnegie Middle East Program Amr Hamzawy as well as space scientist Essam Heggy have accepted invitations to join the country’s national dialogue, Dialogue’ general coordinator Diaa Rashwan said.
Rashwan, head of the Journalists Syndicate, revealed in his program ‘Masr Jadida’ on ETC TV channel some names of those invited by the dialogue’s administration to join the dialogue and those who already accepted invitations.
Rashwan noted that Hamzawy, Heggy, TV presenter Gehan Mansour, and others will join the dialogue coming from abroad.
The syndicate’s head said hundreds have been invited to join the dialogue, including renowned activists and figures, such as Essam Gad, George Ishak, Essam Al-Eslamoboly, Ali El-Din Helal, Mohamed Saeed Edris, and parliamentarian Diaa Dawoud.
This is in addition to former ministers Ashraf Al-Arabi, Amr Helmy, Ashraf Hatem.
Rashwan affirmed that the dialogue will see positive atmospheres, diversity, and freedom of expression to spot differences and find solutions.
He noted that the national dialogue has not been objected by any political party. Instead, many political forces have requested to join the dialogue’s activities, which will start in the first week of July.
Those planning to join the dialogue can register on the official website of the National Training Academy (NTA).
During the Egyption Family Iftar on April 26, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed the National Youth Conference management, in coordination with all political parties and youth currents, to conduct a political dialogue on the priorities of national actions during the current stage.
As general coordinator, Rashwan will be responsible for starting consultations with political parties and all other participants in the national dialogue to form board of trustees that will include 15 members representing all parties, public figures, and experts to ensure their effective participation.
The dialogue’s administration said all needed logistics and supplies had already been completed by the NTA, which is in charge of organizing the National Youth Conference.
The NTA confirmed that it will manage the national dialogue with complete impartiality and impartiality, provided that its role is to coordinate between the different groups participating in the dialogue without interfering.
The Academy said that it will adopt the principle of expanding the base of participation in dialogue by inviting all representatives of Egyptian society from all categories and institutions
It added that diversity will be taken into account in the dialogue sessions to include most regions of the Republic and that registration will be opened on the website of the National Youth Conference for those who wish to participate in the national dialogue
A joint impartial committee will be formed, and will be tasked with compiling the outcomes of the national dialogue in a unified preliminary document that will be submitted to the Egyptian President, the Academy noted.
