Egypt’s Health Ministry continues 3rd phase of door-knocking campaign against COVID-19

CAIRO – 22 June 2022: Egypt’s Health Ministry affirmed continuing it’s third phase of the door-knocking campaign in several governorates including Cairo, Gharbia, Dakahlia and Kafr El-Sheikh governorates.

More than 190K citizen have been vaccinated against Covid-19 as part of the door-knocking campaign.

Head of the scientific committee for combating coronavirus Hossam Hosni asserted that Covid 19 still exists but its symptoms are less acute due to natural immunity and vaccination.

In a phone call with Annahar satellite channel on Wednesday, Hosni said the virus still exists and so is its variants.

He said isolation period declined to five days provided that necessary medication is being taken and symptoms disappear within 48 hours.

Hosni urged pilgrims to isolate themselves once they felt any of the symptoms of coronavirus.

He added that the virus sometimes causes some concentration problems for patients that might disappear after end of infection or continue.
