Egypt expands branches of foreign universities during coming 8 yrs: Planning Ministry

CAIRO – 20 June 2022: Over the past few years, Egypt has sought to provide high quality education, achieve more diversity and competitiveness among universities, and provide educational opportunities in foreign universities’ branches inside the country.

 

The state aimed to reduce the travel of Egyptian students to study abroad, to attract students from outside Egypt, and to enrich the integration between state institutions active community in the field of higher education and scientific research, and to benefit from international experiences.

 

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development issued a report, announcing that Egypt will expand the establishment of branches of foreign universities in Egypt during the coming 8 years.

 

A total of 5 international academic educational institutions were established in Egypt over the past period, including: the Egyptian-Japanese University of Science and Technology, the French National University, the University of Islaska, the German University International, Beirut Arab University.

 

The report indicated that 4 educational institutions have been established, as they host 6 branches of prestigious foreign universities on Egypt’s land.

 

This includes:

 

1-   The Canadian Universities Foundation in Egypt

 

It hosts the two branches of Prince Edward University and Ryerson University.

 

 

2-   The International Knowledge Universities Foundation

 

It  hosts the British Coventry University branch.

 

 

3-   Global Foundation

 

It hosts the British University of Hertfordshire branch.

 

 

4-   The European Universities Foundation in Egypt

 

It hosts a branch for each of my universities (London, Central Lancashire).
