CAIRO – 22 May 2022: Emigration Minister Nabila Makram lauded the political leadership's support for several initiatives launched by the ministry since 2015.

The minister noted that the ministry is sponsoring "Egypt Can by industry" conference by the end of May.

She said Egypt has priceless human wealth, hailing the efforts exerted by Egyptian expats for supporting Egypt Vision to achieve sustainable development.

She noted that these efforts contributed to backing several national projects.

Makram made the remarks during her participation in the eighth annual conference for human resources of the American Chamber of Commerce in Cairo which addressed immigration issues, the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

She noted that the new republic is keen on entrenching human rights, stressing keenness on keeping Egyptian expats linked to their homeland's culture and history.

Makram referred to the "reviving the roots" initiative under which Egypt received Cypriot and Greek nationals who lived and grew up in Egypt.

Makram highlighted the importance of an Egyptian delegation's scheduled visit to Canada in getting members of Egyptian community acquainted with the State's efforts in the various domains.

The minister said, on the sidelines of a coordination meeting to discuss ongoing preparations for the Egyptian delegations' upcoming visit to Canada, the visit is also meant to stand on expatriates' demands and help in raising donations for the Egyptian national Initiative Haya Karima, according to a statement issued by the ministry Wednesday.

A delegation from the Egyptian-Canadian Business Council, representatives of the Egyptian Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), along with a number of businessmen are expected to take part in the visit, with a view to bolstering trade ties between Egypt and Canada and upping the volume of bilateral trade exchange.

The visit aims to promote for investment opportunities in Egypt, expound looming investment opportunities in the Egyptian market, as well as luring investment factors that would help attract more investments to Egypt, according to the minister.

For his part, Chairman of the Egyptian-Canadian Business Council Moatz Raslan, who took part in the meeting, among others, voiced appreciation of all the minister's efforts in preparation for the visit, along with her keenness on supporting the council's activities.
