CAIRO – 15 May 2022: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi held a meeting Sunday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat giving them six instructions pertinent to the ICT sector.

Those are permitting the founding of companies online through a platform dedicated to that purpose, eliminating the condition of having a headquarters to found an e-company, easing the conditions of founding a one-person company, building more technological free zones, increasing tax exemptions for start-ups, and activating the whitelists of imported electronic parts.

On another level, the president directed Minister Talaat to increase the number of scholarships granted to high-achieving university graduates, who studied ICT majors, within "Digital Egypt" initiative. That is in addition to launching "Digital Egypt Juniors," which would offer scholarships to high-achieving school students.

In turn, the minister presented the progress rate of the construction of the Knowledge City being built at the New Administrative Capital, and the center of electronics design, which will house companies, specialized in that field.

Minister Talaat further displayed the updates on developing the ICT infrastructure, which would boost digital transformation, governance of the state's assets, and issuance of IDs for real estate units.

Regarding moving the government to the New Capital, the minister stated that all governmental documents, amounting to 150 million, have been digitized.
