CAIRO - 7 May 2022: The First Deputy Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, Fawzi Al-Nuiri, discussed with the Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephanie Williams, the latest developments in the political process.

"I met in Tripoli with Williams and we discussed the latest political developments and how to maintain stability in order to find a settlement that reaches us as soon as possible for the presidential and parliamentary elections," Al-Nuiri said. The Libyan News Agency "WAL" reported on Saturday.

In the same context, the Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations met with Giuseppe Buccino, the Italian ambassador to Libya.

"I discussed with Ambassador Buccino the current situation in Libya and the importance of supporting a viable constitutional-electoral path in order to enable elections to take place in the shortest possible time frame," Williams wrote, via her Twitter account.

We also agreed on the need to ensure coordination of all international efforts on Libya to support the Libyan-led process
