CAIRO – 22 April 2022: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inspected on Friday development work on the extension of Cairo-Suez Road, including bridges constructed to link the road with many of the main transverse axes.

The Suez Road extends for 109 km and has 24 axes, Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said in a statement.

The Suez Road is one of the important traffic lifelines in the country, which links parts of East Cairo with other parts of the republic. It also represents the main northern entrance of the New Administrative Capital.

The road, together with the cross roads that intersect with it, constitutes an axis network for sustainable development that helps speed and ease the movement of citizens, end traffic congestion, reduce emissions, save energy, boost the trade flow, and increase investments, Radi added.
