CAIRO – 19 April 2022: The Ministry of Youths and Sports represented by the Central Administration of Parliament and Civic Education, held dialogue sessions as part of the activities of the national campaign to combat cyber extortion under the slogan “Protect Yourself”.

 

The dialogue sessions began with the participation of Counselor Osama El Tantawy, President of the Child Court, and Counselor Jaafar Abdel Rahman, Director of the Digital Transformation Department at the Administrative Prosecution Authority, where some projections and the misuse of modern technology and mechanisms for addressing, addressing and combating the law for these negative phenomena were addressed.

 

Counselor Jaafar Abdel Rahman, Director of the Digital Transformation Department at the Administrative Control Authority, spoke about the legal penalties approved by the Egyptian law towards actions related to information technology crimes and electronic extortion, and the stages of development of the relevant law.

 

He discussed that Internet crimes result in many crimes that may amount to murder, as the victims are hunted by e-mail and social networking pages such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, in light of the growth and wide spread of its users from all segments of society.

 

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, the sessions witnessed the participation of representatives of the Parliament of Youths, the first forum of media youth leaders and the Long Live Egypt Students Union, Sanad Entity of Upper Egypt, Youth Office at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Youth Council, and a group of representatives of Egyptian youth leaders and entities, as well as of the Syndicate of Lawyers and Engineers, and the Workers’ Youth Secretariat in the General Workers’ Union, the Leaders Foundation.
