A truck and a tourist bus crashed on Wednesday, causing the death of five Egyptians and five foreigners – Egypt Today

CAIRO – 14 April 2022: Some of the people injured in a bus crash on the Aswan-Abu Simbel highway have fully recovered and left hospital, Samia Samy, head of the central administration for tourist companies at the Ministry of Tourism has said.

The injured in the incident suffer from minor injuries and the tourism ministry is following closely and constantly on the condition of the injured people to ensure all forms of care are provided to them.

A truck and a tourist bus crashed on Wednesday, causing the death of five Egyptians and five foreigners, according to officials. The crash also wounded 14 people, including tourists from France and Belgium.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi extended his condolences to the families of the victims of an accident involving French and Belgian tourists on a highway in Aswan, southern Egypt Wednesday, saying Egypt will give the victims and their families all kinds of support.

“I extend my sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the deceased, praying to God almighty to bless the victims with his mercy and to inspire their families and relatives with patience and solace,” he said in a Facebook statement.

“I am closely following up on the accident of a tourist bus colliding with a truck in Aswan Governorate and instructed the concerned authorities to take all the needed measures, provide all aspects of medical attention and treatment for the victims of the tragic accident, and follow up on their condition,” he added.

Sisi also said he ordered that all kinds of support be given to the families of the victims. Ten people died in the accident, where a pickup truck collided with a tourist bus. The victims include one Belgian and four French tourists and five Egyptians.
