Fire in gas line in a Cairo suburb, no victims reported

CAIRO – 13 April 2022:  Firefighters of Cairo security directorate’s civil protection force succeeded to control a fire that erupted in a gas line in Nasr City suburb.

The fire took place after a gas leak that happened when it was struck by a loader during digging operations taking place in the area by the drinking water company.

The gas flow was immediately shut off to prevent the fire from spreading and cooling operations are going on at the site.

None was harmed in the blaze, according to Health Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar.
