CAIRO - 5 April 2022: The Egyptian Railways Authority is implementing major projects to modernize signaling systems along railway lines from "Alexandria to Luxor", at a cost of L.E. 12 billion.

 

In the below lines, et highlights everything you need to know about this new system:

 

1- The current projects to modernize railway signaling systems aim to replace the old current electrical system with a modern electronic one.

 

2 The new system will help increase the number of trips per day.

 

3- The modern signaling system contributes to achieving the highest levels of safety and security.

 

4 The new signaling and communication system includes tracking trains, moment by moment.

 

5- The system includes equipping the skates with bells, lights and automatic gates to reduce accidents and achieve safety for vehicles.

 

6- It also allows the driver to contact the operation monitor from any semaphore in case of emergency or sudden malfunctions.

 

7- The underway projects seek to modernize signaling systems on railways with a total length of 1900 km, at a cost of 50 billion pounds.

 

8- The projects are expected to be completed by the end of the year 2024.
