CAIRO – 13 July 2017: The U.S. mediation efforts to solve Qatar’s crisis has failed as a result of Qatar’s obstinacy, Qatari opponent Khalid Al -Hail said on Wednesday.

A Qatari opposition activist and President of Qatar’s National Democratic Party, Khalid Al-Hail stated on his Twitter account, “I think that America's mediation failed to contain Qatar’s crises because of Qatar's obstinacy.” He also expected that the quartet will issue a new statement within hours.

In early June 2017, several countries, including Egypt, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, severed diplomatic ties with Doha over accusations of Qatar backing and funding terrorist groups.

The countries closed airspace and maritime ports to Qatari transportation.
