Egypt looks forward to increasing French investments in 8 sectors: President Sisi

CAIRO – 28 March 2022: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi received Monday French Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire at Al Itiyadiyah Presidential Palace, conferring over expanding bilateral trade, and French investments in Egypt's different national projects.

 

That is particularly in the sectors of transportation, manufacturing of electric vehicles, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, telecommunications, digital services, recycling, and production of green hydrogen.

 

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Minister of Finance Mohamed Mait, Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology, and Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea.

 

Le Maire delivered the greetings of President Emmanuel Macron to President Sisi, who in turn, asked him to deliver his best wishes to his French counterpart.

 

The minister expressed France's eagerness to back the developmental process in Egypt, encouraged by the country's many economic successes and its pivotal role in establishing the pillars of security and stability in the Middle East and Eastern the Mediterranean.  

 

Le Maire further underscored that his current visit marks the real start of the implementation of the projects funded the "Comprehensive Financing Package" signed between Egypt and France in June 2021.
