CAIRO – 18 March 2022: Ahl Masr Walkway is a project that will span all of Egypt, and not just Cairo, assistant for the minister of housing Abdel Khaleq Ibrahim told Nahar T.V. Friday.

The walkways along the Nile River will be open for everyone without any charge. The first Ahl Masr Walkway has already been inaugurated, and it begins at Imbaba Bridge and ends at May 15 Bridge for a distance of 1.8 kilometer.

“Many parts of the Nile Corniche were designated for certain segments, and it was not easy for the public to enjoy the river except by sitting along bridges crossing the Nile,” Ibrahim said.

He added that Greater Cairo lacks green spaces, and the role of Ahl Masr Walkways is to be an integrated, recreational, and cultural place in Egyptian cities.

To ensure the sustainability of the walkways, specialized companies have been hired to maintain and secure the project.
