CAIRO - 12 March 2022: More than 1.1 million surgical operations were conducted so far as part of an initiative launched by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in July of 2018 to end patients' waiting lists, said spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar on Thursady.


He reiterated the ministry's keenness on offering best medical care in the shortest time possible.

Three new specialties, namely surgeries of chest, congenital defects for children, bone marrow transplantation, were added to the initiative, he said.

The initiative already includes surgeries of kidney transplant, liver transplant, cochlear transplant, heart, bone, conjunctivitis, tumors, cardiac catheters, brain catheters, cardiac catheters, and brain and nerves.
