CAIRO - 7 March 2022: Egypt is past the difficult phase of the spread of Covid-19 disease and has achieved highest recovery rates at isolation hospitals, says the presidential advisor for health affairs.

Speaking to Egypt’s Channel One earlier Monday, Dr Mohamed Awad Tageddin said: “We’re past the difficult phase of the fourth wave of coronavirus. We could tell from the drop in the number of infections.”

But Tageddin still urged citizens to please continue to adhere to precautionary measures until a stable phase is reached. The virus is still there, he warned.

He greatly appreciated efforts exerted by the political leadership to determine steps that need to be taken to protect citizens against the viral disease.

Asked about the booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, the health advisor said it is important to boost immunity against the disease.

Tageddin also talked about clinical trials of the Egyptian Covid-19 vaccine, stressing that the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) will review the outcome of studies after the third phase of the trials is over.
