CAIRO – 3 March 2022: Egyptian Ministry of Defense, on Thursday, honored a number of retired army commanders who ended their tenures on January 1, 2022, said the  ministry in a statement.
 
The ceremony was attended by Minister of Defense and Military Production Mohamed Zaki, in the presence of Army Chief of Staff Osama Askar and top commanders.
 
The retired commanders were given the state's awards of the second class after President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s approval,  in appreciation of their sincere national efforts, the statement added.
 
The minister extended President Sisi's greetings and appreciation to the retired commanders for the efforts they exerted during performing their duties, the statement concluded.
