Egypt reports 1,521 new coronavirus cases, 48 fatalities

CAIRO - 28 February 2022: The Health Ministry said Sunday night that 1,521 new coronavirus cases were detected, upping the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak in the country began to 482,248.


In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said 48 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 24,040.

As many as 1,213 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 412,161 so far, the spokesman said.
