CAIRO - 1 February 2022: Presidential Adviser for Health Affairs Dr Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din said on Monday the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine should not be the same kind as the previous two.

Speaking to Al Hadath Al Youm TV channel, Tag El-Din explained that studies confirm that the third dose is "more preventive" than the first two, noting that these vaccines have contributed to limiting the outbreak of the pandemic.

The two new drugs of Pfizer help reduce complications for minor and moderate cases.

The current COVID vaccines are safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women, he added.
