CAIRO- 28 January 2022: About 80,000 Egyptian expatriates were repatriated back home from different countries around the globe after the world lockdown because of the coronavirus crisis, said Minister of Emigration and Expatriates Affairs Nabila Makram n media remarks on Thursday evening.
 
Talking to the Sada el Balad TV channel, the Minister affirmed that expats can call her personally anytime to report their requests.
 
Makram affirmed that the country is against illegal migration, adding that Egypt has managed to prevent any illegal migration attempt since 2016 as it was declared by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. 
 
She said that the country, in a bid to prevent illegal migration, launched the initiative “lifeboat” in 2019 in some governorates nationwide to help the youth find job opportunities and make them avoid the potential of migration abroad illegally.
