CAIRO – 27 January 2022: The 53rd edition of the Cairo International Book Fair, which is held every year in January, kicked off on Thursday for visitors. If you are planning to attend the two-week fair, here is what you need to know:

- The 53rd edition of the Cairo International Book Fair runs from 26 January to 7 February.

- The fair is held in the Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC) in El Tagamo’ Al-Khames (Fifth District) in New Cairo.

- Visitors can attend activities of the fair between 10 AM to 8 PM every day.

- A total of 1,063 publishers are participating in this edition of the fair.

- The fair includes 900 pavilions and comes with the participation of more than 50 countries.

- Visitors are allowed to visit the forum without submitting vaccination certificates.

- The Egyptian Health Ministry, however, has provided a coronavirus vaccination center inside the fair for those planning to take the vaccine shots.

- Visitors have to stick to wearing coronavirus masks and applying all coronavirus measures.

- The book fair administration will not ask you for the vaccination certificate inside book selling halls.

- The health ministry has allocated ambulances, blood donation vehicles, and awareness banners and videos against coronavirus.

- Entry will be free of charge for children below 12 years of age, the elderly, and people with special needs.

- Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli inaugurated the fair on Wednesday with the presence of ministers and senior officials.
