CAIRO - 26 January 2022: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is paying a visit to the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday morning, where he is scheduled to meet with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Mohamed bin Zayed.

In a statement, Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said the visit comes in the framework of the special Egyptian-Emirati relations and the historic brotherly bonds and cooperation relations between the two countries.

It is expected that Sisi will discuss with Mohamed bin Zayed the aspects of the strong and extended bilateral relations between the two countries, Radi said.

Sisi and Mohamed bin Zayed will also coordinate and consult on the latest developments related to regional issues in light of the current phase’s requirements regarding consolidating efforts to protect Arab national security against destabilization attempts, Radi said.

Early in January, Sisi and Mohamed bin Zayed discussed ways to further enhance the relations and cooperation between the two nations, according to a statement from the official website of the UAE Crown Prince.

“Over a phone call, the two sides exchanged congratulations over the new Gregorian Year, praying to Allah Almighty for further progress, stability, and security for the two countries and their peoples,” the statement read.

“The two leaders also reviewed a number of regional and international issues, stressing the importance of maintaining consistent and integrated positions that consolidate Arab and regional security and ensure sustainable development in the countries of the region,” the statement added.

On 26 November 2021, President Sisi received a phone call from Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. They touched on a number of issues pertinent to bilateral cooperation and relations between the two countries, said Egyptian Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Radi in a statement.

Both leaders exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
