President Sisi follows up with progress of new Administrative Capital housing projects

CAIRO – 24 January 2022: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting on Monday with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and Housing Minister Essam el Gazzar to follow up the progress of some under-construction housing projects across the country.

Gazzar briefed the President on the latest developments of the fourth-generation cities project, especially the New Administrative Capital, in light of ongoing construction of the business and government districts and central towers as well as residential neighborhoods.

The President also followed up the implementation of housing units of governmental staffers in preparation for moving them to the new capital.

The government is building 30,000 units for the staffers who will be relocated to the new capital.

Also, the President was posted on the latest developments of housing and services projects in New Alamein city, New Mansoura city and Ras el Bar city.

The housing minister also briefed Sisi on the progress rate of the current project to develop Khedival Cairo. The project includes improving the pedestrian circulation network by-widening selected sidewalks and preserving and restoring the facades of historical structures that have suffered from deterioration.

The President urged accelerating the development of Maspero Triangle in downtown Cairo so that residents, who were relocated till development works are over, can return to their rebuilt houses as soon as possible.
