CAIRO - 24 January 2022: Egypt's Grand Mufti Shawqi Allam on Monday described the Police Day as an inspiring occasion for all Egyptians to work, unite and cooperate with their Armed Forces and Police to get rid of terrorism.

Allam's remarks came in a message of congratulations to Minister of Interior Mahmoud Tawfiq and policemen on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Police Day which falls on January 25 every year.

Allam said policemen shoulder the responsibility of protecting the homeland in the face of terrorist and extremist groups that seek to spread destruction and chaos everywhere.

He added that all Egyptians appreciate the sacrifices of policemen to protect the security and stability of the homeland and and defeat terrorist groups.
