CAIRO - 8 January 2021: Egypt’s 4th edition of the World Youth Forum (WYF) held on Saturday two preparatory workshops ahead of the opening session scheduled for Monday.

The WYF, scheduled to be held in South Sinai’s Sharm El-Sheikh city from 10 to 13 January under the auspices of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, is expected to see a huge attendance from youth as well as key officials and leaders from around the world.

The first workshop discussed the side water policies. During the session, the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) has praised Egypt’s successful experience on solving the water crisis.

The workshop shed light on Egypt’s great efforts to solve the water crisis through the canal lining and the use of modern methods of irrigation.

GIZ underscored the need to handle water-linked issues and find solutions for water crises all over the world.

The WYF also held a workshop entitled Generation Z's perspective on the post-pandemic world to address concepts and characteristics of generation Z.

Students of Egyptian and foreign schools exchanged consumer-style characteristics, the extent of their political maturity, and their opportunity for a better education.

The workshop shed light on this generation's relationship with sustainable development and their role in achieving Egypt Vision 2030.

Member of Senate Alaa Mostafa said generation Z's dependence on technology and social media badly affected their social relations and educational process.

Many of them are currently suffering from problems related to health problems and building long-term relationships such as marriage.
