Egypt’s achievements in this regard are seen as a unique model, said former assistant foreign minister Mohamed Hegazy in statements to MENA.

Set for 2024, the 12th WUF will be organized in Egypt and will focus on the file of sustainable urban development, Hegazy noted.

According to the diplomat, Egypt hosting the event is yet another proof of its successful sustainable development efforts.

Egypt is now acting to build its infrastructure through 7,000 kilometers of roads extending across the country, Hegazy said.

He also pointed to efforts to upgrade the sectors of electricity and energy, not to mention moves to build a digital economy.

Hegazy particularly mentioned the New Capital, which is planned to compete, if not exceed, the latest urban development models.
