In a statement on Tuesday, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said the meeting discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern as well as the Egyptian stances regarding these issues.

The meeting discussed Egypt’s efforts within its Arab surrounding as well as the active Egyptian movements along with African countries within the framework of the African Union.

Egypt’s comprehensive vision in the field of human rights, environment and climate change issues, as well as Egypt’s hosting of the UN climate conference (COP27) next year were all tackled during the meeting.

The two sides discussed the developments of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) issue, Egypt’s counterterrorism efforts, and issues of non-proliferation.

The US delegation affirmed keenness to understand Egypt’s vision regarding different issues, voicing appreciation of Egypt’s efforts to achieve stability in the Arab and African region.

They expressed willingness for cooperation with Egypt at all bilateral levels and in the international forums to support efforts of security, peace and stability in the region.

Shoukry welcomed the outcome of the strategic dialogue between the two countries' delegations, pointing out that Cairo and Washington have great opportunities to develop relations in different fields.
