CAIRO – 10 July 2017: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry warned that certain relief organizations affiliated with extremist groups take humanitarian work as a cover to destabilize countries lacking a central authority, and he urged partnering up with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Shoukry’s statement came during his speech in the 44th meeting of the ministerial council of the OIC in Abidjan on Monday.

The minister added that Egypt would soon submit to the general secretariat a list of the entities and individuals that the organization should not deal with in humanitarian work in order to preserve its reputation, credibility and integrity from tarnishing due to the controversy over these establishments and persons.

Shoukry said recent measures taken by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain against Qatar came after the four states verified that Doha was continuing its policies of interfering in other countries’ affairs and supporting terrorism.
