CAIRO – 6 December 2021: Tripoli Appeals Court abolished on Monday, Zawiya Court’s ruling excluding Commander Khalifa Haftar from the presidential race, allowing him back as a presidential candidate in Libya.

This ruling comes few days, following Zawiya’s court decision to exclude Khalifa Haftar from the list of candidates for presidential elections scheduled on 24 December.

Earlier in December 2, Libyan presidential candidate Saif al-Islam Gaddafi celebrated Sabha Court of Cassation's acceptance of his challenge against excluding him from the race.

The son of slain President Muammar Gaddafi posted a Quranic verse on Twitter to express his steadfastness.

The elections will be held on Dec. 24 with dozens of candidates running for the presidency of the country. December will also witness parliamentary elections.
