CAIRO – 20 November 2021: Environmental and cultural education have become one of the urgent requirements to increase public awareness in Egypt about environmental issues, especially children and adolescents.

Therefore, the Ministry of Environment effectively contributed with civil society organizations in establishing the “Green Corner.”

The Ministry of Environment adopted the “Green Corner” project that educate the public about the climate change and its impact on the environment and livelihoods. The ministry took over the task of spreading the Green Corner in all governorates of the Republic, and 30 Green Corner sites were established and equipped in all governorates.

Within the framework of the ministry’s interest in raising awareness of the issue of climate change and its negative effects on the environment and society, a children’s coloring booklet entitled “Our Planet and the Future of Our Children” was printed in cooperation with the Nasr College for Girls affiliated with the National Institutes in Alexandria to raise awareness of climate change and global warming issues.

This booklet aims to educate children and their families in a simple, easy and friendly way to clarify the issue of climate change, its causes and the impact of human activities on the increase in carbon dioxide emissions.

It also highlights the role the children and families can play in reducing these emissions.
