CAIRO – 12 November 2021: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi expressed Egypt’s aspiration for partnership with France in many projects, including the Hayah Karima (Decent Life) national project to develop the countryside, as he met on Friday with Bruno Le Maire, France's economy and finance minister.

This is in addition to the national projects in the transportation field, including railway, metro, and manufacturing electric vehicles, as well as in the fields of health, education, energy, communication, technology, and artificial intelligence.

Sisi hailed the French ministry’s efforts in enhancing economic and commercial ties with Egypt and its support for building capacities of the Egyptian institutions operating in the development fields.

This comes especially in light of the promising opportunities for French investors in Egypt in the various sectors, Sisi said.

Sisi also hailed the ministry’s efforts in encouraging French companies to contribute to implementing investment projects in the development axis in the Suez Canal area as well as benefiting from the special benefits provided by the state in this area.

Le Maire, for his part, affirmed France’s keenness to enhance strategic cooperation with Egypt with the aim of introducing advanced technology to Egypt in all fields and encouraging French companies to operate and invest in Egypt.

This comes within the framework of contributing to boosting the ongoing comprehensive development process in Egypt, especially in light of the positive economic developments Egypt has witnessed in the recent period, Le Maire said.

This includes securing the appropriate climate for attracting foreign investments and proceeding with serious steps to facilitate government procedures and licenses regarding investments.

Sisi also met on Thursday with French Armed Forces Minister Florence Parly, where they agreed on intensifying consultations and coordination during the coming period to counter terrorism.
