MOSCOW - 10 July 2017: Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva Alexey Borodavkin said Moscow hopes progress is achieved in the new round of Syria peace talks that resumed Monday.

Russia Today news channel cited Borodavkin as saying that the UN Special Envoy for Syria informed him of his plans on how he will conduct the talks and work with all parties, adding that all his plans were supported by the representatives of the UN Security Council members in Geneva.

Borodavkin also stated that the talks will focus on two issues, on top of which are unifying the efforts of Syrian authorities and opposition to fight terrorism as well as accelerating the constitutional reform process.
