COVID infection peak to decline by mid-November: Egypt’s Health Ministry

CAIRO – 3 November 2021: The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population revealed a relative increase in the number of daily infections with Corona, stressing that the whole world is witnessing the same increase.

 

The Ministry of Health and Population said that Egypt has received so far 70 million doses of Corona vaccines., adding that there are seven various vaccines in Egypt and abundance in shots sufficient for large number of citizens. It also said that 1,100 vaccination centers across the republic that provide vaccination on condition of e-registration through the official website.

 

The Ministry of Health and Population added that the peak of infections is expected to decline in the second half of this November, noting that the state provides all vaccines for Corona free of charge, pointing out that vaccinating large numbers of citizens contributes to reducing the death rate.

 

For his part, Dr. Hossam Hosni, head of the Corona Scientific Committee at the Ministry of Health, said that the Pfizer vaccine was approved for children, which was approved by the American Food and Drug Administration, and said: There is nothing to prevent anyone from taking the vaccine unless he is allergic to the vaccine.

 

He said, that each wave shows different strains, and that the emergence of other strains cannot be predicted, but the symptoms are similar, and there are continuous efforts to prevent the patients from the virus’s complications, especially since the symptoms affect patients with chronic diseases.

 

He pointed out that vaccinating pregnant women has become safe and allowed.

 

He continued: The treatment protocol for Corona was updated for the sixth time during the recent period, and he continued: all medicines and supplies were provided in hospitals in full, adding that Egypt is negotiating to manufacture moderna vaccine locally.
