Egyptian farmers in Sohag complaining that their banana crops were destroyed due to water shortage - Egypt Today/Mahmoud Maqboul

CAIRO - 31 October 2021: The cabinet media center dismissed as baseless the news about Egypt's importation of a perishable banana shipment.


In a statement on Sunday, the center stated it communicated with the Agriculture Ministry which denied the news as bare of truth, called on media and social media to ensure the authenticity of the news circulated to avoid perplexing public opinion. 

The ministry stressed that all banana crops and those imported are safe and meet the set standards.
