Japan’s Emperor thanks Egyptian Ambassador to Tokyo for his efforts on boosting bilateral relations

CAIRO – 26 October 2021: Before him leaving his post, Egyptian Ambassador in Tokyo, Ayman Kamel, was received by the Emperor of Japan “Naruhito” as part of his farewell ceremony for the end of his tenure in Japan.

 

The ambassador began the meeting by expressing his utmost thanks and appreciation to His Majesty for the support he felt during his tenure in Japan, and briefly reviewed the most prominent aspects of joint cooperation between the two countries and the boom witnessed in the past four years in bilateral relations in various fields.

 

He further listed the inauguration of many development cooperation projects in various sectors, the most important of which is the cooperation in the field of education through the Egyptian-Japanese Partnership Initiative for Education (EJEP), as well as the experiences of the Egyptian-Japanese University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) and the Japanese schools in Egypt (EJS), as well as the concerted efforts of the two sides with the aim of bringing the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) to light as a symbol of the deep historical relations that bind the two countries.

 

The Egyptian ambassador also touched on cooperation in the field of health care and its comprehensive health insurance program, in addition to the close cooperation between the two sides during the Corona pandemic to combat the spread of the virus.

 

For his part, Emperor Naruhito asked the Egyptian ambassador to convey his greetings to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and also expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the Egyptian ambassador throughout his tenure in Japan, which contributed to advancing and strengthening bilateral relations at all levels.
